Material Guide - Care instructions

Calf leather

We suggest clients to always apply a leather protector before use to prevent irreversible staining or watermarks. As with all leather products, marks may occur when wearing. Dust and dirt should be removed before cleaning, then apply a natural leather cream using a soft fabric cloth.

Nappa

This leather is very soft and delicate. Please note this material may stretch over time. We suggest clients to always apply a leather protector before use to prevent irreversible staining or watermarks. As with all leather products, marks may occur when wearing. Dust and dirt should be removed before cleaning, then apply a natural leather cream using a soft fabric cloth.

Suede

Suede is a very absorbent material and therefore marks easily. Please note suede can bleed due to the loss of colour pigments when new. We recommend using a suede protector to keep products in good condition. A good quality suede brush may be used to remove loose dirt but care should be taken as excessive use can cause permanent damage. Be careful when wearing suede shoes during wet weather conditions. When not in use, store in provided dust away from direct sunlight.

Metallic Leathers

Metallic leathers have a surface foil coating that is very delicate. Keep away from sharp objects, product containing alcohol or solvent as the surface can easily be scratched and damaged. This is normal wear for this type of leather and is not considered a flaw. Once the metallic finish is removed, it cannot be re-applied. With constant wearing, the leather may develop wrinkles which is considered the natural wear of the material and cannot be reversed. The product should be wiped gently with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately away from direct heat. We would advise against the use of any cleaning products as this may affect the material.

Glitter fabric / leather

Glitter materials are very delicate and can be damaged by very little friction. With wear, the material will lose a small amount of glitter and as this is the nature of the material, it is not considered to be a fault. If an area of the product becomes bald, the glitter cannot be reapplied. We therefore recommend glitter material products is handled with utmost care. Do not treat with any liquids containing alcohol as this will cause permanent damage.

Croc / Embossed Leathers

The product can be gently wiped with a soft dry cloth and dried immediately, away from direct heat. Do not use any cleaning products and avoid scratching or excessive abrasion as the texture cannot be repaired once damaged. It should be stored away from humidity and sources of heat.

Patent leather

Patent leather is made from real leather finished with a mixture of acrylic and polyurethane which gives a longer lasting, durable finish. Keep away from sharp objects as the surface can easily be scratched. This is normal wear for this type of leather and is not considered a flaw. Remove dirt with a damp cloth carefully as the surface can scratch. With wear, patent leather may eventually lose its glossy finish. Care should be taken to avoid contact with alcohol or any type of solvent.

HARDWARE

Metallic accessories, beads, studs, and other embellishments

Take note to be extra careful when wearing delicate footwear. Embellishments may fall off if worn in harsh conditions or when rubbing occurs.

Pewter braids

These braids are handmade, the material contains 96 % tin and 4 % silver. Due to the braids being handmade each braid will be unique. This is not considered a flaw. The braids are delicate, wear and rubbing will cause the braids to flatten and develop a shiny surface. This is non reversible.

Metallic Heels and buckles

Our signature metallic heels and buckles are made from brass as a base with a galvanic coating. The heels are delicate and marks and scratching may occur with normal wear, this is not considered a flaw. Make sure to never let your heel tips wear down as this may cause damage to the heel embellishments. To maintain the shine you can gently wipe the surface with a dry and soft cloth.

Repairs

Soles

All our soles come with a mould-in rubber sole under the toe. We have chosen this option as leather soles wear out faster and the shoes are balanced. Please note the soles needs to be maintained even under normal conditions and use and resoled regularly. We advice you to repair with a thin sole to maintain the balance of the shoe.

Heels

Top pieces are replaceable components, do not allow them to wear down. They should be repaired regularly by your local shoe repairer.

Important information

Never use artificial heat to dry shoes. Always let them dry naturally. Keep footwear in a dry place away from light to protect the condition and color of the material, maintain the shape with shoe trees. When traveling, please use provided dust bag and gently wrap shoes with crystal embellishments for protection.
